Almost 9 months since Frankie was born, which mean

Almost 9 months since Frankie was born, which means 9 months in and 9 months out. The last (almost) 18 months have been hardcore and have taught me that for multiple reasons, having a baby is one of the hardest things you can do. Another huge lesson is that the myth of postpartum recovery only lasting 6 weeks is absolute rubbish! It’s way longer than that.

I’ve had to nourish my body (and mind) through supplements and food, because believe it or not, coffee alone won’t help you.

This latest recipe book by @vickiefantastic, Clever Cooking (published by @penguinbookssouthafrica) couldn’t have landed up on my doorstep any sooner, as I’m currently starved for nutritious, economical, and easy recipe ideas. Vickie makes creating healthy, delicious and time-saving recipes for you and your family easy, along with her tips and tricks around meal prep (loadshedding hacks included), batch cooking and freezing.

Interestingly enough, Vickie was one my lecturers when I was studying at @icachef, and was a big influence in taking my love for food into the editorial space. The very first photo I ever took of food was during her class and I think it was a lemon loaf which I had to bake, style and photograph myself. So thank you Vickie for creating a wonderful book to add to my collection, but also for inspiring me to do what I do as well ✨
